AI Chat Assistant – Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

These AI Chat Assistant Terms of Use (“Chat Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AI Shopping Assistant available on our Site. These Chat Terms supplement our general Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between these Chat Terms and our general Terms of Service, these Chat Terms control solely with respect to your use of the AI Shopping Assistant.

By accessing or using the AI Shopping Assistant, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to these Chat Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the chat service immediately.


2. Service Description

The AI Shopping Assistant is provided to help you browse products, get answers about shipping, returns, sizing, product details, and receive shopping guidance based on information available through our Site and related systems. It is intended for use by customers located in the United States only.

The AI Shopping Assistant is an informational tool only. It cannot place orders, modify orders, apply discounts, process payments, or guarantee product availability, delivery times, or product suitability.


3. Usage Rules and Limitations

  • Maximum 10 messages per hour per user, device, session, or IP address, as determined by our systems
  • The service is for personal, non-commercial use only
  • Automated queries, scraping, bot usage, or attempts to bypass rate limits or security measures are strictly prohibited
  • You may not use the chat to submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful content
  • You may not use the chat to collect, infer, or attempt to access personal information about other users or third parties

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the AI Shopping Assistant at any time if we believe these Chat Terms have been violated or if the service is being used in a way that creates legal, operational, or security risk.


4. Data Collection & Privacy

When you use the AI Shopping Assistant, we may collect and process information associated with your chat session, including:

  • the text of your messages and the assistant’s responses;
  • conversation history associated with your session;
  • your IP address;
  • browser, device, and operating system information;
  • timestamps, request metadata, and technical diagnostics such as request identifiers and error records;
  • rate-limiting and anti-abuse data such as pseudonymous identifiers, request counts, block events, and reset times;
  • verification and anti-bot signals, including reCAPTCHA tokens, scores, or similar results; and
  • if you choose to provide it through the chat, your email address and the content of any transcript, follow-up request, or related customer-service message sent by email.

We use this information to operate the AI Shopping Assistant, generate responses, maintain service continuity, provide shopping guidance and support, enforce usage limits, detect and prevent spam, bots, fraud, and other misuse, troubleshoot errors, improve service quality and safety, and send chat-related transactional emails when requested or triggered by your use of the service.

Chat conversations and related records may be reviewed by Le Couture Store for quality assurance, customer support, security monitoring, troubleshooting, and enforcement of our terms and policies. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Please do not submit payment card numbers, government-issued identification numbers, health information, or other highly sensitive personal information through the AI Shopping Assistant.

5. Third-Party Technology Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate the AI Shopping Assistant, including:

  • Netlify for server-side processing, hosting, and operational infrastructure for chat requests;
  • OpenAI API for generating AI responses;
  • Upstash for rate limiting and related anti-abuse controls;
  • Google reCAPTCHA for bot detection and abuse prevention; and
  • Resend for transactional email delivery if you request or trigger chat-related follow-up or transcript delivery.

Your use of the AI Shopping Assistant may therefore involve the processing of chat content, technical metadata, security signals, and—where you voluntarily provide it—your email address through these providers, as further described in our Privacy Policy.

Where reCAPTCHA is used in connection with the chat, your use of that verification service is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.


6. Important AI Limitations

Please be aware of the following limitations:

  • Responses are generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, inaccurate interpretations, or outdated information
  • Product recommendations are informational only and should always be verified on the relevant product pages before purchase
  • The AI Shopping Assistant may misunderstand your request or provide incomplete answers
  • The AI Shopping Assistant cannot provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice

7. Availability and Service Changes

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Le Couture Store shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the AI Shopping Assistant. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the AI Shopping Assistant is to stop using it.
